Description
This course is designed to provide information and orientation to first-year nursing students. Course content includes development of academic, personal, and interpersonal skills that will help the student succeed in college and develop a sense of campus involvement. Topics covered include: academic policies and procedures, time management, study skills, taking examinations, and nursing career opportunities. Emphasis is placed on identifying and understanding the college resources available to students to aid them in obtaining information relevant to their academic career as well as their personal goals. Practice and feedback are given to enhance skills in oral presentation, written expression, classroom discussion and group participation. (prereq: none)
