Description
This course focuses on the essential information needed to interpret normal and abnormal rhythm strips, differentiate lethal from non-lethal ECG rhythms, and appropriately select pharmacological and non- pharmacological interventions. Technology used in monitoring cardiac rhythms is explored from design and end-user perspectives. This course is co-taught by nursing and biomedical faculty. Current pharmacology for treatment of cardiac dysrhythmias is addressed. Simulation technology is incorporated into course providing students with real time rhythm identification and treatment.
